Rejuvenated Onion and Bacon Dip

Back in the 1950's and 60's, the old days when everybody smoked and still listened to the radio, there used to be a favorite dip that was the easiest to make.  A couple of hours before guests arrived, you simply took a package of Lipton Onion Soup mix and added it to a couple of cups of sour cream.  You then served this with veggies or chips for dipping.  Mmm mmm good (oops, sorry, wrong soup theme).  I've tried to come up with a lighter version but with just as much flavor.  Here goes:

Make a large batch of caramelized  onions  chopped5-6 slices 40% reduced fat bacon, cooked in microwave until crisp, then crumble2 cups lite sour cream
2 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp celery seed
3 tbls fresh snipped chives
1/2 tsp Tabasco
salt and pepper to taste.

Mix all ingredients until well blended.  Chill.  Serve with veggies and chips for dipping.
